February 2023 - So far this game has been playtested 6 times with 3 or 4 players each time. All players have enjoyed the game. More feedback to follow.

February 2023 - I intend to write the special rules upside down to make it clearer that you don’t use them from hand, it’s just the one rule that is applied to each round. For a more complex game 2 rules could be used, I need to check that none of them conflict with one another if this is a plan.

UNDERHAND HEROES

In development January 2023

Components - 18 cards / 2 to 4 players / 15 minutes

In this simple fast card game you will gather heroes to steal treasure from a dragon. The winner is the one who comes back with the most gold but steal too much and you will wake the dragon and lose it all.

Each card features an even number from 2 to 32 and there’s one with 36 and another with 40. Each turn you will take one card and sandwich it between your palms (like a prayer) Then all players secretly decide to play their card face up or face down by twisting their hands.

Then all cards are revealed. The highest face up card takes ALL the face up cards. Then the lowest face down card takes ALL the face down cards. The winner of these cards will place them face up in front of them to form their adventuring party.

Keep playing until either one player has 5 adventurers in front of them (and can leave the dungeon with their head held high) OR until a player’s cards equal 100 or more (and they wake the dragon who eats them. At this point all the other players escape the dungeon with whatever they have managed to steal.

It’s back to the tavern where players total their ill gotten gains. When someone reaches 250 the game ends and the player with the most gold wins.

To add an extra dimension to the game each round has a random rule applied to it to affect the cards that get played.
